Fall Recovery Made EASY - The MAIDeSITe Electric Lift Chair in Action

The MAIDeSITe Electric Lift Chair enables caregivers to safely lift elderly persons who have fallen.

Weighing just 30 lbs – yet lifting up to 300 lbs – this portable lift chair uses a detachable waterproof controller to smoothly raise elderly users from the floor to a secure seated position under supervision. It can also be used for assisted bathing.

Key benefits are allowing safe fall recovery and hygiene assistance while reducing injury risks for both seniors and caregivers. Simple to use with proper charging, this dual-purpose lift chair has a comfortable padded seat, intuitive controls, and no pinch points for safety.

Being a battery-powered device, it is important to establish a battery charging routine to ensure the lift has power when needed.

Overall, the MAIDeSITe lift chair is a practical solution to improve care and quality of life for elderly individuals and assistance from their caregivers.

The MAIDeSITe Electric Lift Chair is an innovative device designed to help caregivers safely lift elderly persons after falls and allow them to bathe with assistance.

As a Certified Senior Advisor and Home Safety Specialist, I recently tested and reviewed this lift chair.

In this comprehensive review, I’ll share my hands-on experience with the product to help you determine if it could benefit your elderly loved one.

Overview of the MAIDeSITe Electric Lift Chair

The MAIDeSITe lift chair is lightweight at 30 lbs but can lift up to 300 lbs. The maximum lift height is 20 inches, allowing caregivers to raise elderly users from the floor to a typical seated position.

From there, the user can stand with assistance or transfer to another chair. You can see my demo of the lifting process here.

It has a removable waterproof hand controller that operates on a rechargeable battery. This allows the lift to be used for assisted bathing too!

Key features include:

  • Foldable Sides for Easy Transfers – The foldable transfer flaps allow the elderly user to slide themselves onto the lift seat from the floor easily. This enables them to be more self-sufficient in getting onto the lift chair.
  • Cushioned Seat for Comfort – The cushioning makes the lift chair more comfortable when raised up from the floor. This reduces pain or discomfort, especially for those with limited mobility.
  • No Pinch Points for Safety – The pinch-free design ensures the elderly user’s skin or clothing does not get caught when operating the lift. This prevents injuries and enhances the sense of security.
  • Portable and Easy to Store – The lightweight lift chair can be folded up and carried to wherever it is needed. Caregivers will appreciate the easy portability and storage between uses. It can be kept anywhere for quick access when falls occur.

Testing the Lift Chair for Elderly Safety

As shown in my video demo, I found the lift chair straightforward to set up, charge, and use with supervision.

It smoothly raises elderly users from the floor to a secure standing height under the observation of a caregiver. I felt the chair was stable and allowed safe transfers on and off.

The simple hand controller has intuitive buttons. For bathing, it can be placed on the attached hook and suction-cupped nearby. I confirmed the chair is fully waterproof and used it in my own tub.

Key Benefits for Seniors and Caregivers

Allows Safe Recovery After Falls

For seniors prone to falling, this lift chair allows caregivers to safely raise them up after falls without unsafe lifting. It reduces anxiety related to falling while waiting for assistance.

Enables Assisted Bathing

With the waterproof controller, the lift chair can be used by caregivers for assisted bathing of elderly persons. This improves hygiene and quality of life compared to sponge baths.

Reduces Caregiver Injury Risk

Lift chairs eliminate the need for unsafe lifting of elderly persons off the floor by caregivers. This prevents back and joint injuries.

Provides Peace of Mind

Older adults and their caregivers gain confidence that having a safe and easy to use fall recovery device is possible. The lift chair removes concerns about injuring themselves further while attempting to get up.

Using the Electric Lift Chair to Recover After a Fall

If an elderly loved one falls and you cannot lift them up safely, the electric lift chair provides a solution.

Follow these steps:

  • Check for serious injuries before moving them. Call 911 if needed.
  • Bring the charged lift chair to the fallen person.
  • Help them slide/transfer onto the lift seat. Position them in the center.
  • Use the hand control to raise the backrest up. Then lift them off the floor to chair height.
  • Bring a regular chair next to the lift. Slowly help them transfer over to the chair. Or have a caregiver help them stand up from the lift chair.
  • Lower the lift chair back down and store properly after use. Recharge battery.

With some assistance, the electric lift enables a fallen person to go from the floor to a seated position or transfer to a regular chair.

This preserves dignity and reduces risk of injury to caregiver from lifting. Keep the lift chair charged and easily accessible for fall recovery.

Is there much assembly required to the lift chair?????

    • Scott Grant

Not much – just attach the remote and fold it up to a seated position. See the video for a demonstration.
